What is this?

I made a Bokeh Kit for my dSLR camera today. R2-D2 was my test subject, but will be using this with family closer to x-mas. Basically, it allows you to create special effects with background lights that take the shape of whatever you put in front of the lens.  I’ll be posting this for sale, as  well as creating different sizes.  The holidays are a perfect time of year to test this as many people have holiday decorations with lights up.

This Bokeh Kit changes the lights in your pictures into shapes. By definition, “bokeh” refers to the nature of the blur that can be created using light. It refers to those parts of the image that are out of focus – generally those sections of the photo that are found beyond the measured depth of field.

You will see the effect most pronounced when using point light sources such as christmas lights, candles, street lights, flashlights, etc. This kit will work in many different lighting situations. Just remember, it is designed to be most effective with areas of your image that are out of focus, so having a lens with a wide aperture is best.  (f2.8 or wider)

The Bokeh kit needs to be assembled, and I used glue on mine.  The shape discs slip into place and are held in place by gravity.  The pressure tabs are there to hold your bokeh kit in place, but is just snug.  It does not use the filter screws.
