This is a digital download of the STL files needed to 3D print the internals to make your own Polyhedral Birdhouse. Technically, this is a 34% morph dual in between a Hexagonal Antiprism and a Hexagonal Deltohedron.
This is a digital download of the STL files needed to 3D print the internals to make your own Polyhedral Birdhouse. Technically, this is a 34% morph dual in between a Hexagonal Antiprism and a Hexagonal Deltohedron. I’ve also included the SVG, AI, and PDF file to use on a laser cutter to create the faces. The example pics above of an actual Polyhedral Birdhouse are for reference only. This is an complex build.
Holes are sized for #6-32, and you will need 168 screws total. I used 3/8″, 6-32 screws in the example build. The screws needed are not included, as this is a digital file. You will need a 3D printer, or access to one to print these connectors, as well as a laser cutter to cut the faces.
You will need to 3D print 38 connectors.
1 Birdhouse Hole
11 Middle Connectors
12 Roof and Floor Connectors
2 Apex Connectors
You will need to laser cut/print 60 faces.
12 four sided (Pointy with 2 holes)
12 Thin rectangles (2 Holes)
12 Rectangles (4 Holes)
12 Triangles (Middle, 3 Holes)
12 Triangles (Roof & Floor, 3 holes)
You will need a .25″ dowel for perch, as well as rope to hang the birdhouse. The roof and floor connector has a hole to feed the rope through.
